Have children make their first communion gifts? The boy is eight, which is a good gift idea?
I think its up to you whether or not to give the child. How important first communion for you?
A youth Bible is an excellent choice. This is a modern translation of the Bible includes commentary designed for young viewers. I guess that the child is Catholic, you can ensure that your gift is a Roman Catholic Vatican has approved the translation, if such is the case. Check your local Christian book. The store clerk should be able to help you make an appropriate choice.
Yes. You could give her a nice card with some money, a medal of patron saint, a Bible, a crucifix .... essentially any religious Nice gift, or money. This is not the kind of opportunity to give toys.
A word of warning, make sure to buy religious items in a Catholic magazine. Catholic Bibles contain more books than other faiths, and some Catholics are offended by a cross that does not display the body of Christ.
Yeah. usually something related his faith as a rosary or cross or something. Go to one of these gifts Christian Bookshops / they have all sorts of things.
Frankly, it would probably be happier if you gave him a nice card with some money, but I always wanted I am lol
Nice give a Bible
How on earth is a child of 8 will decide what religion he is, at this young age. It grow and become smarter first. Otherwise, you forcing religion down his throat.
Yes, the gift of simplicity.
When I made my first communion (like a billion years) gave me a rosary, bible and a crucifix.
These donations could be good for him
Yes, in fact, gifts are sort of tradition.
The traditional gifts for each first communion are: rosaries, crosses and Bibles. They are all great gifts but at the end of a child can end up with many many of them and no use for them.
My suggestion would be a statue, perhaps of a favorite Bible story or saint. Where possible an image or picture, so that one child could benefit. The trouble with gifts for first communion, is that the child is not fully see the importance of a breakable fantasy that is on a shelf. Another suggestion would be a medal, say, the Arch Angel Michael. This is not a girly necklace. It is a metal show that it is monitored and treated, the more it is also something he can hold and use it himself instead of putting it on a high shelf
