Figi's

Figi'sElements necessary for success A reef

Reef-keeping can be an enjoyable hobby, especially if you have the right balance of corals and fish to create a truly beautiful aquarium. You can go buy a small tank to start, but it is not always the best move. You might as well get the biggest tank that will fit in the space you have, so you need not bother with upgrades. If you go small at first, then decide to go later, you will need to make changes in your lights, filtration system, everything really. Thus, the cost of upgrading to a larger tank is much more than just acquiring the largest tank later.

And your fish need room to swim and grow. If you have a small tank, you have small fish that are not happy because they have no place. This can lead to aggression between the fish and that is not a good situation at all.

Once you have decided on the size of your tank, you will need to examine your filtration system, which is the case of live bacteria. You want the bacteria, because it breaks down waste. Then you can go with mechanical filters, you can instead use a bed of sand to mimic the way it works in the ocean. It will be cheaper and work better, so it's a wise choice. Use three to four inches of a grain of sand and all with one to two inches of sand to keep the heavier lighter sand.

Next are your rock formations. You want to start with Figi because of its combination of form and price, you can then choose other rocks based on aesthetics. Between the bed of sand and rocks, you can indeed have created a natural filtration system which all the creatures you put in your tank and thus, as the bacteria you need.

Note that if you start with a new tank, you want uncured rock to help cycle your tank, but if one adds up to a tank, make sure you use cured rock, so that your cycle n is not impeded.

The next thing to consider is your overflow system, including your water pump, sump and a return tube. You want to use a box set of overflow, and a magnetic disk is a choice of quality pump and you can use a catch-all for the sump. For the tube, you can simply use a PVC pipe, it is effective.

You need a water conditioning system to keep fresh water for livestock and to help prevent algae. Good ingredients include a skimmer, a filter TFC reverse osmosis water, and a float valve kit RO.

Your lighting system is also important. You want a mixture of two types of bulb: 10,000 K actinic white and 460 (blue) bulbs, and put on a timer, because you want to keep your tank on for ten hours a day to avoid rapid growth algae.

Now that you have your installation, you can go ahead and add your corals and fish, and enjoy your reef tank!
